New BPHU Units and 200-Bed Mother-Child Care Unit to Improve Healthcare Facilities in Faridabad

Faridabad: The Health Department of Faridabad is working diligently to enhance healthcare facilities in the district. Construction of a 200-bed Mother-Child Care Unit at BK Hospital is set to begin in February.

Along with this, the construction of Block Public Health Units (BPHUs) at Pali, Kurali, and Kheri will be completed by July. These initiatives will ensure that patients no longer have to travel far for treatment.

In addition, land has been earmarked in Sector 7 for a new Chief Medical Officer (CMO) office, and the Health Department is actively working to initiate construction for the same.

At the District Civil Hospital, a maternity ward with delivery rooms is located on the first floor, along with around 35 NICU beds for newborns. However, these beds are often insufficient, leading to the referral of patients to Delhi for advanced treatment.

This not only causes inconvenience for the patients but also highlights the need for better local facilities. To address this, the Health Department plans to build a 200-bed Maternity Hospital within the District Civil Hospital complex, replacing the old building.

This Mother-Child Care Unit is expected to cost approximately ₹20 crore, with ₹13 crore already allocated by the government to the PWD. Construction of the unit is scheduled to begin in February.
