Boiler Explosion in Company Claims One Life, Injures Two

Fire Breaks Out After Blast at Sector-37 Company; Controlled by Two Fire Engines

A boiler explosion at the Elofic company in Sector-37 on Monday evening claimed the life of one employee and left two others injured.

According to locals, the blast was so powerful that it was heard up to a kilometer away. The explosion caused a portion of the company’s roof, covered with tin sheets, to collapse. The deceased, identified as 36-year-old Haseen Khan, was a resident of Madanpur Khadar, Delhi.

The explosion also triggered a fire in the premises, which was brought under control by two fire engines. The Sarai police station is investigating the incident.

The incident occurred around 4:30 PM on Monday. The police control room received information about a fire in the Elofic company located in Sector-37, which manufactures air filters for vehicles.

Upon receiving the alert, a police team from the Sarai station and the fire department rushed to the scene. It was discovered that the fire resulted from a boiler explosion. Two fire engines managed to extinguish the flames.

Approximately 140 employees working in the company immediately evacuated the premises after the fire broke out. Employees also removed over 20 blue plastic drums, each containing 200 liters, from the company premises to prevent the fire from spreading further.

Police spokesperson Yashpal Singh confirmed that one employee died in the incident, while two others sustained minor injuries. No written or verbal complaint for an FIR has been filed yet, and investigations are ongoing.

Blast Heard Up to a Kilometer Away

Local residents reported that the explosion was so intense that it could be heard up to a kilometer away. The windows of a nearby company shattered due to the impact of the blast.

Hearing the loud noise, several workers from neighboring companies gathered at the site. The tin shed covering the roof of the company premises was blown away, and iron parts of the machinery were severely damaged.

The deceased employee, Haseen Khan, was thrown several meters away due to the explosion and became trapped between machinery. Two other injured employees received first aid and were sent home immediately after treatment.

This tragic incident highlights the need for stringent safety measures in industrial settings. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
