Uncontrolled Eco Van Collides with Divider in Faridabad; Driver Stuck Inside for a Long Time

Faridabad: On Sohna Road, an Eco van lost control and crashed into a divider, leaving the driver trapped inside the vehicle for an extended period.

Two passengers accompanying the driver were safely rescued. Local residents eventually freed the driver by cutting the vehicle’s gate. The driver has since been admitted to the hospital.

Eco Van Collides with Divider:

The incident occurred near Dayal Hospital on Sohna Road late Wednesday night when the van struck a divider placed on the road. Eyewitnesses reported that three intoxicated individuals were traveling in the van, including the driver, who was also under the influence of alcohol. This led to the accident.

Efforts to rescue the driver, whose leg was stuck inside the van, were initially unsuccessful, prompting locals to notify the police via Dial 112. A police team arrived on the scene shortly thereafter.

Allegations by Locals:

Local residents accused the police of negligence, stating that the divider lacked reflector tape, which led to the accident.

They claimed this was not the first such incident at this location. After the police left, locals used iron rods and a cutter to dismantle parts of the van and free the trapped driver.

Police Statement:

According to Bijender, the in-charge of the local police post:

“Upon receiving the information, we rushed to the spot. The driver was trapped inside the van, while his two companions had fled. With the help of locals, we managed to rescue the driver, whose leg was stuck for quite some time. He has been admitted to a private hospital in Sector 16, Faridabad, for treatment.”

Airbags Save Driver’s Life:

Local witnesses stated that the van was traveling from Ballabgarh towards Sohna Road when the incident occurred. The airbags deployed during the crash, saving the driver’s life. However, due to his leg being stuck, the driver lost consciousness.

After considerable effort, he was freed and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
