Faridabad: Police Commissioner Satendra Kumar Gupta has assured that complaints against M/s WTC Faridabad Infrastructure Development Private Limited will be investigated impartially.
He emphasized that strict action will be taken against the builder with full assurance. Speaking to journalists at his office in Sector 21C on Thursday, he stated that the police will not show any leniency in this matter.
The Police Commissioner highlighted that cybercrime has become a major challenge for the police. He stated that the department is serious about tackling cybercrime and believes that awareness is the key to preventing such offenses.
Awareness campaigns will be intensified, and cases of cybercrime will be investigated thoroughly to ensure that offenders are penalized.
The police are also reviewing past cases to determine how many convictions have been secured. Specialized training is being provided to officers in cybercrime units to enhance their investigative capabilities. Media support will be sought to spread awareness about cybercrime.
Traffic and Road Safety Measures:
Responding to a query, the commissioner stated that the police are working to resolve traffic issues to prevent road congestion. Measures will also be taken to reduce road accidents. Strict action will be taken against vehicles driving in the wrong direction, as this significantly increases the risk of accidents.
Steps will be taken to prevent parking on roads, and problematic areas will be identified. Guards will be deployed in front of establishments where vehicles are being parked on the road.
The commissioner also mentioned that additional police personnel are being deployed during peak traffic hours, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, to address traffic congestion. The number of traffic personnel will be increased, and recruitment of Special Police Officers (SPOs) is underway to strengthen the workforce.
Initiative to Check Two-Wheeler Riders:
To curb crimes, the police have launched a campaign to check young two-wheeler riders aged 15 to 35. The review of thefts, robberies, and snatching incidents reveals a significant involvement of two-wheeler riders, prompting this initiative.
Crime Reduction:
The commissioner noted a 12% decline in major crimes such as murders, robberies, and dacoities compared to the previous year. Efforts are also underway to verify the identity of Rohingya refugees and Bangladeshis as part of a statewide campaign alongside Faridabad.
Corruption Will Not Be Tolerated:
The Police Commissioner warned that corrupt police personnel will not be spared. Complaints of corruption will be dealt with strictly.
Citizens’ complaints are being taken seriously, and complainants now receive a receipt for their grievances, enabling them to track the status of their complaints. Feedback is also being collected from complainants to improve police functioning.
Women’s Safety a Priority:
The commissioner assured that the police are fully vigilant regarding women’s safety. Awareness campaigns for women’s security are ongoing, and police in women’s stations and other police stations have been instructed to take immediate action on women’s complaints.
