Surajkund All Set: The Grand Fair of Fun, Art, and Culture Begins Today

The much-awaited Surajkund Mela kicks off today, bringing an exciting blend of art, culture, and entertainment.

This year, 648 participants from 51 countries are taking part in the event. The fair will feature Odisha and Madhya Pradesh as theme states, along with a special pavilion from Goa.

With increased national and international participation, this edition promises to be grander than ever.

The announcement of the fair’s commencement was made during a press conference at the main Chaupal of the Surajkund complex in Faridabad.

The event begins with fresh energy and enthusiasm, offering visitors a vibrant cultural experience.

A Global Cultural Showcase
Haryana Tourism Corporation’s Principal Secretary and Vice Chairperson of the Surajkund Mela Authority, Kala Ramachandran, stated that the fair serves as a powerful medium to showcase Haryana’s rich cultural traditions to the world.

The Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, will inaugurate the event on Friday at 10 AM. The inaugural ceremony will also witness the presence of Haryana’s Chief Minister Nayab Singh and State Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma.

A Culinary Delight Across States
Visitors can indulge in a variety of mouthwatering delicacies from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Punjab, and other states. Odisha and Madhya Pradesh, being the theme states, will also present their unique culinary delights.

Principal Resident Commissioner Mrinalini Darshwal from Odisha and Devendra Rai from Madhya Pradesh shared insights about the craftsmanship and cultural heritage that their states will showcase at the event.

Convenient Ticketing Through Delhi Metro
To enhance the convenience of visitors, the Haryana Tourism Department has signed an MoU with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. Delhi Metro will handle ticket sales and parking arrangements for the event.

Tickets for the fair will be available at select metro stations in Delhi, and special ticket counters will be set up at the venue’s entrance.

Cultural Extravaganza Across Four Stages
Surajkund Mela will host cultural performances throughout the day across four stages. While the existing Chaupal-1 and Chaupal-2 will continue, two new cultural platforms—Maha Stage and Natyashala—have been added to enhance the experience.

Additionally, QR codes will be displayed outside stalls to provide information about artisans and their stall numbers.

With an exciting mix of traditional arts, crafts, music, dance, and culinary delights, the Surajkund Mela 2025 is set to be an unforgettable cultural extravaganza.
